Roland Fuhrmann – Cohesion
Art on Construction for the Federal Ministry of the Interior
Ferrum Lasercut realized the metal works for the “ZUSAMMENHALT” art on construction project by the artist Roland Fuhrmann. More than 30 steles were lasercut from stainless steel sheets, then bent, welded together with connecting elements to form a square tube, riveted and fitted with top and bottom plates. After the filling work, all steles were covered with their individual partial motif – precisely defined by Roland Fuhrmann – which was printed on a high-performance foil with long-lasting, UV-resistant colours. The foiling was carried out by the specialists of Paul Buchstaben Schilder GmbH.
A stable substructure of double-T girders was necessary to ensure that the individual stelae are stable and vertical on the one hand, but on the other hand can be aligned exactly to one point of view. This was also created at Ferrum Lasercut according to the specifications of Roland Fuhrmann. The same applies to the signage of the work of art and the floor marking made of stainless steel. From this point – and ONLY from this point – the overall anamorphosis image appears as a unit. You get the perfect impression when standing on the marking at an eye level of 1.55 m.
